Nostalgia for net art

http://www.desvirtual.com/gif/, 2007

I Love Yr GIF is a project based on the culture of the first wave of net art, produced entirely with animated gifs taken from personal collections such as of Jimpunk, Marisa Olson and Superbad. Inspired by the features of micromap, a mobile browser developed by Apple and Nokia, and its resources of zooming and superposition, here the low tech rhyme with Wi-Fi and mobility, remixing the past and the future of the Internet in an optical black and white delirium.
Work commissioned by Nokia. Made for N80.

Le gif animé, cette petite animation cheap et m’as-tu-vu de la fin années 90 qui servit de matériau aux pionniers du net-art, revient. L’artiste brésilienne Giselle Beiguelman lui rend hommage à travers son projet I Love Your Gif
