Giselle Beiguelman is an artist and professor at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo. Her work includes networked projects and interventions in public spaces. She is the author of several books and articles on contemporary nomadism and digital culture practices. In her more recent projects, she investigates the aesthetics of memory and the politics of oblivion.

This paper addresses the aesthetics of memory emerging on the horizon of digital culture, discussing the notions of ruin, conservation and archive, in relation to contemporary processes of “documentary overdose”, loss and planned obsolescence.
