Yesterday I joined the panel on “Transmediatization and Lifestyle” at the 4th congress of ABES (Brazilian Association for Semiotic Studies), with Raquel Zuanon, Lucia Santaella and Mario Carlón (UBA).
The entire afternoon was devoted to discussions of transmedia and its impact on how we think about and plan products, campaigns and media themselves. Carlos Scolari delivered the opening lecture, with a very interesting presentation on television’s reconfiguration within today’s media ecology.
Transmedia aesthetics
I took the opportunity to systematize the discussion of transmedia content creation processes that I have been developing with my students this semester, focusing on an archaeology of procedures and a conceptual mapping of the topic, emphasizing the connections between transmedia aesthetics and network culture.
