Ideas City São Paulo: Untapped Capital

Ideas City — São Paulo begins tomorrow, a New Museum (NY) project previously held in New York and Istanbul. Discussions and workshops bring together artists, urban planners and activists from October 25 to 27 at Sesc Pompeia. I am taking part in the panel “Bridging Divides: People, Technology, Networks”, with Arto Lindsay, Carlos Leite and Lindsay C. York (EFF). I will speak about the June protests, urban interventions and processes of political infiltration and viral dissemination. The complete program is here. About Ideas City: IDEAS CITY explores the future of cities around the world with the conviction that art and culture are essential to the vitality of urban centers. Founded by the New Museum in 2011, it is an initiative to which hundreds of arts and educational organizations contribute. It provides a platform for discussion where artists, architects, designers, urban planners, cultural critics, sociologists, technical specialists and community leaders can identify problems, propose solutions and mobilize public participation.
