The Web at 25 is a project organized by The Webby Awards,International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, Tim Berners-Lee, World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and the World Wide Web Foundation. It invited a group of artists, writers and film directors whose works in net art and experimentation are emblematic of the history of the internet and the movement defending it as a commons open to everyone. I am participating with Cinema sem Volta, a work developed especially for Multitude, a Sesc project coordinated and curated by Lucas Bambozzi and Andrea Caruso Saturnino.Cinema sem Volta is an infinite slideshow automatically fed by Instagram images. Produced by conflicting groups using the same hashtags, it performs a battle of languages between the mob and the multitude. No loop, no return.
The Web at 25 is an online event concluding with a presentation by Tim Berners-Lee on May 19 at the 18th Webby Awards ceremony in New York.
The installation version will be presented at the opening of Multitude at Sesc Pompeia on May 29.
