Domingo no Golpe is a “Ready Media” documentary by Giselle Beiguelman and Lucas Bambozzi about the attempted coup of 8 January 2023. The term refers to works whose authors draw attention to what already exists. This documentary was produced entirely from footage recorded by the security cameras of the Palácio do Planalto.
The footage was released to the press by the GSI (Institutional Security Office) in April 2023, by order of Brazil’s Supreme Federal Court. The narration draws on excerpts from the final report of the Joint Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry into the Events of 8 January, released on 17 October 2023 and read by Senator Eliziane Gama, the report’s rapporteur.
Domingo no Golpe addresses a January 8 that did not begin a year earlier and has yet to end, in the words of the rapporteur, whose statement runs through the narrative.
