Museum of Invisible [Bodies]

Museum of Invisible [Bodies]

Museu dos Corpos Invisíveis is a collaborative documentary about the city of São Paulo, conceived as a battleground between visibility and invisibility. Designed as a web series, the documentary is divided into five thematic sections: Sexuality; Segregation, Urban Quilombos, and Racism; Queer Tribes; Invisible São Paulo; and Biopolitics, Control, and the Periphery.

Museu dos Corpos Invisíveis focuses on the bodies that traditional historiography has excluded from discourse about São Paulo: women, gay people, trans people, Black people, residents of the periphery, unhoused people, and the biopolitical power exercised in the city.

The documentary discusses sexuality, feminism and gender politics, racial segregation, the periphery, surveillance, emergency, queer tribes, and life on the streets. It consists of interviews with artists, activists, and thinkers, combined with images produced by a group of students in FAUUSP’s Design program.
