Tele_bits 2.0

Tele_bits 2.0
Tele_bits 2.0 is a net art work about the relationships between telecommunications and culture. With a post-cinematic format, the project is attuned to the aesthetics of the data movie or metacinema, engaging with mobile culture and its augmented reality interfacing processes, thus evoking the television of the future. The public interacts by manipulating visual sequences through QR codes (barcodes read by mobile phones), changing their order and expanding the information embedded in the mosaic of projected images.

Tele_bits 2.0 is built from an image database stored on Flickr. A program developed specifically for the project loads the images according to their arrangement in albums and presents them as the mosaics seen in the projection.

None of the content used in Tele_bits 2.0 is original, nor was it conceived for audiovisual output. All the material was researched and collected on the Internet, processed and standardized to compose the sequences seen in the exhibition space.

Tele_bits 2.0 is a project by Giselle Beiguelman and Rafael Marchetti, developed specifically for the exhibition Tão longe, tão perto, organized by Fundação Telefônica.
